Would much prefer if they sold it with hard foam, for easier cutting. Ended up using only the thin bottom and eggshell top sheets. The two middle soft foams are useless. They need to change that.

I had a Nanuk case that I used for something else for a long time. I recently converted that to a gun storage case, and need a customizable foam insert to hold a pistol and two mags. I was able to get the exact fit I needed. It works great!

I love the fact that these are available to purchase after destroying one of them or in the event I want to change the way I have it organized. I like the price. I do wish the perforations were a bit better though.

My relationship with NANUK began when I purchased one of their smaller protective cases in order to store my portable electronics in (a couple of DAC/Amps and a DAP along with a 4.4mm balanced cable and various microSD cards. I immediately began removing sections of foam after I had received my new case, in order to make my gizmos fit perfectly inside. I did so using only my fingers as the foam has perforations which will help in the removal. But don’t do what I did! I had to order a replacement block of foam, and to be honest I now need to order another. I didn’t do a horrible job but I am pretty anal and can’t stand seeing where I have pulled a little hard and left some places looking pretty bad. I will give it one more try but will be using a long serrated knife to carve out the sections more accurately. I’m sure the third time around will be the charm! Lesson learned… take your time! It will be well worth your while.
