I like the 310 case so far with 2 exceptions, 1. I think they need some foam for this case as it is not offered and 2. I think they need a limiter on the degrees of opening. The smaller cases are usually used for personal items and I think they would really benefit from having a way to set how far the lid opens. There is only one case on the market that does this that I am aware of and that is "The Dark Vault" https://thyrm.com/product/darkvault/ The Ruck case from Pelican also opens a little more then 90 degrees but is not adjustable. There is no cases in this small line or even slightly larger that have a limiting feature for opening.
This feature would be exceptional for my use and others have also said this would be a fantastic feature especially for use in a boat, car, truck, or any environment where you are in motion and have to access the contents of the case. I think this feature along with your latch system would separate your nano line case from all the other cases currently available. I bought 2 of these cases, one is for use and the other we ae going to add to a few other brands for testing in different practical uses.
If you do end up using this limiter for your line of cases, please let me know and I would love to have one of the first to come out of the lab. :) For now I have installed a rivet into the rib on the rear of the case to limit how far the lid opens. This works well but honestly, an adjustable opening on the hinge of some type would be better as one friend said, there are times when you like the lid to lay flat to access the contents or use the lid to lay items on.
Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
Great quality build. The latch will take some time to get used to. Would rather have a simpler design.
I originally bought a Nano 330 for my wife for her phone, it was too large, so i ordered a 320, which was also too large. Finally ordered the 310, but it was too small for her phone. The best part is I kept all three for myself! The 330 is full of fire-starting stuff for the Bug-out Bags; the 320 has a iPod w/extra power, cords & earbuds; but the wife stole her 310 back for “jewelry & such on the road”. Damn!
This is a great, solid little case. I keep my fire starter gear, an extra knife and headlamp in here. I know it will be safe and ready when I need it. Nanuk cases rock!
I bought this case for my hearing aids. They fit perfectly plus the supplies to go with them.
I was looking for a small weather proof case to build small custom electronics as a hobby. The brochure showing a lexan panel kit for the Nanuk 310 piqued my interest. The Nanuk 310 has a transparent option which was great for my attempt at a solar charger to power my device. I really like the latching system and the fact that the seal is just around the rim of the lid. It maintains good sealing even with a panel installed. This is a definite plus for me compared to the Pelican micro cases where the sealing seems to be integrated to the bottom rubber lining which I have to remove to fit a panel in. David was great to deal with as always.
