IPX7 Ingress Protection - Waterproof
IPX7 Ingress Protection - Waterproof
IPX7 is an industry-standard rating that signifies a product's level of protection against water and moisture. The "IP" stands for "Ingress Protection," while the "X" is a placeholder for dust resistance (not applicable here). The "7" specifically denotes the product's waterproof capability. In IPX7-rated devices, the "X" indicates that there's no rating for dust intrusion, while the "7" means the device can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes without suffering damage.

Imagine you have a rugged hard case for your smartphone with an IPX7 rating. This means that if you accidentally drop your phone in a puddle or a shallow pool, the case is designed to keep your phone safe and dry even if it's submerged for up to half an hour. So, whether you're caught in a rainstorm or decide to take some underwater photos, your phone remains protected from water damage thanks to its IPX7 Ingress Protection rating.
IP6X Ingress Protection - Dustproof
IP6X Ingress Protection - Dustproof
IP6X represents an industry-standard rating that indicates a product's level of protection against the intrusion of dust and solid particles. The "IP" stands for "Ingress Protection," while the "6" specifically signifies the product's dustproof capability. An IP6X-rated device or enclosure has undergone testing and validation to ensure that it offers complete protection against the entry of fine dust particles, preventing them from harming the internal components.

Imagine you have a rugged hard case for your sensitive electronic equipment with an IP6X rating. In practical terms, this means that no matter how dusty the environment is, the case is engineered to keep out even the tiniest dust particles. So, whether you're on a desert expedition or working in a dusty construction site, your valuable electronics remain shielded from dust and potential damage, thanks to their IP6X Ingress Protection rating.
ATA Specification 300 - Category 1 Impact
ATA Specification 300 - Category 1 Impact
ATA Specification 300 is a set of industry standards and guidelines for the design and testing of transport cases, particularly those used to safeguard delicate or sensitive equipment during transit. Within this specification, "Category 1 Impact" refers to a rigorous testing criterion. It signifies that a hard case, such as a protective container for fragile instruments, has been tested and certified to withstand a severe impact, typically a drop from a specified height, without compromising the integrity of its contents.

Consider a scenario where you're transporting a high-end camera in a hard case designed to meet ATA Specification 300 - Category 1 Impact standards. If, during your journey, the case accidentally falls from a height, the camera and its accessories will remain unharmed inside the case. This certification ensures that even in rough handling situations, your valuable equipment stays well-protected, making it a reliable choice for photographers and professionals who frequently travel with fragile gear.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Drop Test
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 is a standardized testing procedure used to assess the durability of packaging, including hard cases, by subjecting them to controlled drops from specified heights and angles, simulating the stresses encountered during shipping and handling.

When a hard case undergoes an ASTM D-4169 DC-18 drop test, it's like verifying that a laptop inside remains unharmed after falling from a conveyor belt during airport luggage handling.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Vibration
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Vibration Test is a standardized evaluation process used to assess the ability of packaging, such as hard cases, to withstand the vibrational forces encountered during transportation, ensuring the protection of contents.

Subjecting a hard case to an ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Vibration Test is akin to verifying that a camera inside remains undamaged despite enduring bumpy road conditions during shipment.
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Rainfall
ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Rainfall Test is a standardized procedure used to evaluate the ability of packaging, including hard cases, to protect its contents from moisture and rain during transportation, ensuring items remain dry and undamaged.

Subjecting a hard case to an ASTM D-4169 DC-18 Rainfall Test is akin to confirming that sensitive electronics inside remain unharmed even in a heavy downpour during shipment.
MIL-STD-810F Immersion
The MIL-STD-810F Immersion Test is a military standard procedure used to assess the ability of equipment, including hard cases, to withstand submersion in water, ensuring they remain operational and undamaged when exposed to wet environments.

Subjecting a hard case to the MIL-STD-810F Immersion Test is like verifying that its contents, such as sensitive instruments, continue to function flawlessly after being submerged in water during field operations.

PowerClaw Superior Latching System

Close with confidence. Open with ease.

Ensuring that your smaller gear stays well protected from the elements, this NANUK case's patented PowerClaw latching system uses compressive force and triple action to clamp your case tight. Integrated slide locks offer added security, preventing your case from opening during transport or if it’s dropped. The super tough nylon construction and stainless-steel hardware ensure that your important items stay safe in your NANUK waterproof case no matter where your journey takes you.

Stand out with a unique design and color selection.

Rounded corners and chamfered edges merge with strong character lines to deliver a design that is as sleek and modern as it is tough and reliable. Indestructible & Lightweight NK-7 Resin

High-Impact Protection. A fraction of the weight.

Impact-resistant, lightweight, and armed with an NK-7 resin body, this NANUK case is designed with rounded corners, thick, strong walls, and oversized details. No matter what nature throws its way, NANUK is built to survive. This NANUK is shock-absorbent to prevent damage to the case and, more importantly, to the valuable contents.

Automatic Pressure Release Valve

Automatic Pressure Release Valve

Keep your case from sealing shut. Automatically.

Changes in altitude, temperature, humidity and geographic location create a “vacuum lock” which can effectively seal a case shut. NANUK's integrated auto-pressure valve equalizes this atmospheric pressure difference. Using state-of-the-art technology, the micro vent allows air to pass through while preventing water from entering.

Lid Stay & Reinforced Metal Padlock Holes

Reinforced Metal Padlock eyelets

Protect & Carry with Confidence

NANUK comes loaded with innovative features. All models have integrate reinforced metal padlock eyelets that let you lock down your gear so you can carry and protect your valuables with confidence.

Astronomy accessories case extrordinair

The 933 with padded divider insert fits most of my astronomy / astrophotography accessories (eyepieces, diagonal, cameras and adapters etc.) when I travel. If you can arrange the panels to fit your items, they should be fairly secure. Im only giving four stars because I wish the padded divider set used the same style inserts as the n-cubic organizer sets.

Perfect travel case for my two camera interview kit

Recently purchased this case to travel down east for shoots in PEI and Newfoundland and needed to bring my 2x EVA1 cameras and lenses. This case holds everything including batteries, chargers and even shoulder rig! 5 stars to an amazing Canadian company!

Great Case!

NANUK, in my opinion, is the best hard case out there. I have had other ones and what stands out the most with NANUK, for me, is the latches. They are easy to open and very secure when closed. I house my ham radio equipment in them and I trust my NANUK case to keep my precious (and expensive) radio equipment safe. When I need to buy more cases, NANUK will always be my go-to case.

I expected great quality. I got amazing qauality.

After looking into "high-end" travel fishing tackle boxes/bags, I realized that for just a little more I could build my own using a in a NANUK 933, 3700 size tackle boxes and an adjustable padded divider. I have done a great deal of research, and I was confident I was getting a great case. When my 933 arrived, I was blown away by the quality. Not only was it sturdy and watertight. The latches were of excellent quality, and the top hinge was constructed in such a way that the top stayed vertical when opening the case. The movement was easy, but secure. Everything about this case is quality. I am very satisfied. I am expecting that this is the last “tackle box” I will ever need to buy. If you travel with fishing tackle and usually buy “high-end” tackle boxes or tackle bags. I strongly encourage you to consider splitting just a little bit more for a 933. Yes, you will add some size and weight to your equipment, however, you will also be adding durability, protection, and, yes, style to your tackle system.

Awesome case

As usual, my new Nanuk case is truly incredible. They are the finest such cases on the planet. I was easily able to make holes in the cubed foam to fit my camera, lenses and accessories. I have a Nikon DSLR camera, so its big and heavy, and it fits perfectly in the case. You make amazing cases Nanuk!
