This layer consists of foam squares that can be removed in various configurations to accommodate the contents of the case. This solution is ideal if you are seeking a quick and easy way to protect and organize your items. * Exception: Nanuk 985, 988, 990 and 995 foams have full foam layers only.

Perfect fit,very satisfait!

The foam is great and I could not find any after-market foam that looked to be of the same quality. That said, I wish they would allow the purchase of just the top piece (thay you cut) for a cheaper price instead of having to buy then entire set of 4 pieces for $100. It would be nice to have a few different top pieces that are set up for different needs.

I stumbled upon the Nanuk hard cases (and foam) when I was at a local gun store and love it. The hard cases are incredible and very well made. Personally, the locks are better than Pelicans and engineered very well. The cushions inside are very stiff, well made and and does a great job at protecting my firearms during transport. Highly recommended!

Foam inserts work great - custom fit for the case. However, I'd love to see one change which would be to have the ability to 'pluck' the foam (at the very least) half deep. Trying to customize the slots for various equipment is very time consuming and makes some layers void when you have to do the complete depth of said layer. Cutting it is sloppy (looking) and time consuming. Hope that's clear. :)

As I acquire more astrophotography equipment, I sometimes find it necessary to re-purpose an existing Nanuk case. As a result, I need new foam inserts to do so.
